What the hell does this mean?
“The Homeland Security Department has completed a review of the Transportation Security Administration’s new airport scanners and says they are “”safe enough, “”according to a report the agency’s inspector general issued Tuesday.”
Safe enough for what? As we used to say in the Marines, “safe enough for government work”! Nice to know. When I first read the article, I though they were saying that the anise Department of Homeland (Un-)Security people were safe enough. Which I don’t believe either. Look how many of them have been charged with thefts from the flying public.
But it is nice to know that the “scanners are safe enough”. Of course you can’t use a tanning bed if you are under 18 in some states. And you are not safe riding without a helmet or a seat belt, but the scanners are safe! Nice work Napolitano!
It also raises the questions… If the “new” scanners are “safe enough”, does that mean the “old” scanners were unsafe?
